About this product
The Eathomozhy Tall Coconut is an indigenous tall coconut palm variety grown around Eathomozhy village in Kanniyakumari district, at the southern tip of India. It is distinguished by its exceptionally large nuts with thick kernels and high copra and oil content, along with the palm's hardiness and long, productive lifespan. The variety thrives in the district's sandy coastal soil and warm humid climate, and has been cultivated and selected by local farmers over many generations. Its big nuts and good oil yield make it valuable both for household use and for the coconut oil trade of the region. As a locally adapted landrace, it is an important part of Kanniyakumari's farming heritage and supports the livelihoods of many smallholder coconut growers.
