About this product

Kovai Kora cotton sarees are woven in and around Coimbatore by blending cotton and silk, so that a silk-like 'kora' warp gives the cotton saree a gentle sheen and crisp finish. Weavers combine fine cotton yarn with a silk or 'kora' element and add contrast borders and pallu, often finished with zari, producing a saree that is light, airy and well suited to a warm climate yet dressy enough for occasions. The craft grew in the Coimbatore textile belt, drawing on the region's abundant cotton and its established weaving and spinning industry. The result is an affordable yet elegant saree that bridges everyday wear and festive dressing. Woven by handloom clusters across the district, Kovai Kora sarees support a large community of weavers and remain popular for their comfort and understated shine.
