Negamam Cotton Saree

The Negamam cotton saree is a soft handloom cotton saree woven in Negamam and nearby villages near Pollachi in Coimbatore district, known for its fine yarn count and traditional check borders. Woven from high-count cotton on handlooms, the sarees are light, breathable and comfortable in a warm climate, and are recognised by their neat contrast borders, small checks and understated colours. The weaving cluster grew in this fertile agricultural belt where cotton and skilled weavers were both readily available.
